Introduction

Suhagra 100 is a drug administered by the oral route which is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men and improve the ability to exercise in adults. The key ingredient of Suhagra 100 is Sildenafil which treats erectile dysfunction by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. This increased blood flow can cause an erection and helps in maintaining it. Suhagra should be strictly taken as advised by your doctor and not more than once a day.

What is Suhagra 100?

Suhagra 100 Tablets belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE 5) inhibitors particularly used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men. Moreover, Suhagra 100 Tablets can also be used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs) and improve cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength in men and women.

It works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis and simultaneously increases the blood flow into the penis when the person is sexually excited, helping them to attain and maintain an erection. It also increases the blood supply to the lungs and reduces the workload of the heart, in doing so it treats pulmonary hypertension.

How Does Suhagra 100 Work?

Sildenafil, that is the active ingredient of Suhagra 100 is an inhibitor of cGMP specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) in the corpus cavernosum (part of the penis which contains blood vessels), where PDE5 is responsible for degradation of cGMP. By blocking PDE5, Sildenafil prevents the breakdown of cGMP, a substance responsible for initiating smooth muscle relaxation in the corpus cavernosum and facilitating increased blood flow. Furthermore, sexual stimulation is required in order for sildenafil to produce its intended effect.

Dosage Information

Use Suhagra 100 exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by a doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water without chewing or crushing it. The best time to take Suhagra is about 1 hour before sexual activity, but medication can be taken any time from 4 hours to 30 minutes before sexual activity. It should not be taken more than once every 24 hours

For erectile dysfunction, it’s best to take Suhagra on an empty stomach. It may take longer to work if you take it with food or high fat loaded meal.

Suhagra 100 is not recommended for individuals below 18 years of age.

Side Effects

Common sildenafil side effects may include:

• Flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling), headache or dizziness.
•  Heartburn, nausea, or upset stomach.
• Nasal congestion
• Nausea
• Rare but serious side effects include prolonged erection, irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, chest pain, changes in color vision and sensitivity to light. Immediately seek medical attention if these symptoms are severe or they persist.

Warnings and Precautions

• Do not use this medicine if you are also using a nitrate medicine, often used to treat angina or high blood pressure. Nitrate medicines include nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, and isosorbide mononitrate etc.
• Sildenafil should not be used with any other medicine or device that causes erections.
• Do not consume Sildenafil with Tolterodine, Ritonavir, Ranolazine, Aripiprazole etc.
  Simultaneous use may affect heart rhythm and may be fatal.
• Suhagra 100 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver and kidney diseases.

Drug Interactions

• Do not take Suhagra 100 Tablets if you are allergic to any of the components.
• Drinking alcohol or consumption of tobacco with Sildenafil can cause side effects and is not advised.
• Grapefruit or Pomelo may interact with sildenafil and lead to unwanted side effects. Avoid the use of grapefruit products.
• Caution is advised when sildenafil is administered to patients taking an alpha-blocker.
• Please consult a doctor before using Suhagra 100 tablets along with any prior prescribed medication.

• Do not store above 30° C.
• Store in its original package, in order to protect from moisture.
• Store away from direct sunlight.
